"I am a product of my choices, not my circumstances"
This website is dedicated to the men and women I’ve had the privilege to impact and to those who work tirelessly for a better future, understanding that success is earned, not given.
In 2017, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from California State University, Sacramento. My professional journey began shortly thereafter working at a Level 4 Prison where I counseled long-term offenders in Anger Management, Victim Impact, Denial Management, and Criminal Thinking. My mission was to equip incarcerated individuals with the essential tools and skills to prepare for the Board of Parole Hearings.
In 2021, I shifted my focus to supporting individuals on parole, probation, and supervised release. Since then, I’ve helped over 500 individuals secure meaningful employment after their release from prison. Few moments are as rewarding as hearing, “Marlene, I got the job!” and knowing the work I do truly makes a difference.
Today, I’m proud to have reached a significant milestone in my career, serving in a fulfilling role that perfectly aligns with my values and passion for creating positive change. My goal is to empower individuals to excel in their professional journeys and achieve their full potential.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I’ve extended my expertise as a personal career coach for friends, family, and colleagues. From transforming resumes to enhancing interview skills and building confidence, I’ve dedicated myself to empowering others to achieve their goals.
Inspired by the over 500 individuals I’ve helped find employment, I remain committed to serving the community, providing guidance and support to those in need. I am passionate about continuing to impact lives and sharing my knowledge to help others succeed.
Your Coach,
Marlen
